I went there on a Saturday, and I ended up wait for a whole hour and a half even though I arrived 5 mins before my appointment time. After the whole wait, they checked my vitals and turns out I couldn’t donate because of low BP (which wasn’t the case normally). On the way out I told the lady at the front desk I couldn’t donate, to which she patronized ‘oh don’t worry there is nothing wrong with you’. Never going back The only saving grace are the nurses who are polite

This is my main blood donation spot. They book up quickly so I generally make my next appointment immediately after I finish up.

I have been going to this location for years. The staff is friendly and experienced (for the most part) and very professional. Even with an appointment unfortunately there is often a long wait, but if you just assume that it’s not a big deal. The facility is pristinely clean, kept nice and cool (in fact especially if you are doing platelets or double red I recommend bringing a jacket or wrap) and the nurses check on you constantly to make sure all is well through the whole process. I’ve had frustrating experiences at the school or parking lot drives with less experienced staff having issues hitting my vein, etc but never at this location and no bad bruising or anything after. Strongly recommend.

I made an appointment for 9:45 on 2/6/21 and after 1 hour waiting for someone to come out and at least acknowledge for being late, I left. Twice I asked for status and finally manager Cynthia came out from the back but would not have much to say. There is no excuse to at least be polite for the tardiness without volunteers having to summon the manager, or be clear when one comes in the door and let us know that it could be 1 or more hour waiting so we can decide to wait or not. Unfortunately I will not be donating at Laguna Hills center again for the lack of basic management skills.

I guess I picked the wrong box and the man berated me for taking an appointment from someone who could donate “power reds”, whenever the heck that is. I was so embarrassed. I was trying to do a good thing. If someone has never donated blood before how the heck was I supposed to know which box to check. Please fix you website and remind that jerk working there that people walking through the door to donate are VOLUNTEERS.

I have donated many times before with little issue, any issue being on my body’s behalf. Today, unfortunately, I passed out after my donation, a fault of my own (eat breakfast before you donate). The nurses got me back in no time and were really caring, I think everyone of them checked up on me. They made sure my vitals returned to normal before I left and they truly care about the donator. I will definitely be back to donate, but this time I’ll make sure to eat before I go.

American red cross always needing blood and palettes. Folks are nice and performing a well needed service for many. Only gripe I have is that it’s not so easy to get in without an appointment which is odd when they are always in need. I’ve given blood since the 80s and always when I had a few spare mins. I’d drop in, drop a pint and get out. Appointments make it difficult to help out, although I continue to try.

Called at 9 AM to see of I could do a walk in since I couldn’t make an appointment today. They were very nice over the phone then when I get to the Laguna Hills location at 11 AM there was a sign on the door that said open at 1 PM. I wish they would have notified me when i was on the phone with the guy before I wasted my time driving here. If they decide to see me right away and not wait in the lobby forever to be seen then that would make it much better.
