This is the most posh blood donation center I’ve ever been in. Great staff, good snacks, lots of windows near the donation area, even a fireplace! Nice bathrooms too.

I have donated blood to Central Blood Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for many years (nearing 100 times) and for the most part, have had positive experience. While there is occasional turnover in phlebotomists, I have been familiar with and totally trusting of those I’ve been served by. However, there seems to have been a negative change in general culture since Vitalant took over.

Donor experience has been poor since Vitalant took over. Wait times are much higher (despite having appointments) and general employee attitude is less pleasant. Whole blood donations used to take 45 minutes or less, now they are 75 minutes minimum.
