The staff that I’ve dealt with have been nice, helpful and made the experience easier for me. After my first initial screen to get approved for donating, that took around 5 hours before I was done. All my subsequent visits have been much quicker taking about an hour and a half on average.

I’ve been in to donate twice now, and I don’t have a single complaint. The staff are all great, and the entire process is very easy. I thought it would be much worse, but it’s actually easy to go through. I’m researching a high protein, fiber, and iron diet, so that I can always pass to be a donor!

I donated plasma for the first time on 7/18/23. Everyone was very kind. I read some reviews before heading in, and decided to call before making the drive to make sure they were still taking new donors, and the call center told me that if I made it to the center before 3, that they would accept me. Unfortunately, due to staffing, that is not the case (the call center was giving me outdated information). I explained to Courtney that I had called first and drove 45 minutes from E-town, and she spoke with management and they made an exception to fit me in because it was on the call center that I made the drive up there.

Very pleased with my experience so far at this facility. Clean and friendly environment. People complaining about the wait time, are either unfamiliar with the plasma donation process and/or unaware of how short staffed most business are these days. If you don’t have the patience and at least 2 hours to spare (first time visit will always be longer), this might not be for you. But, if you can work it into your schedule, it’s a few extra bucks for you and important, life saving medications for others.

This place gets a lot of traffic, and for good reason. The facility is quite nice, but the staff is the real reason to come here. Allison and Kirk are excellent phlebotimists, it’s a fairly substantially sized needle and those two are so good that you seldom feel anything at all. Donnie is also very skilled and does a great job of keeping cool when the traffic is high. The check in staff is also very nice, Emily in particular is a standout! Highly recommend this place if you’re interested in donating plasma in the Louisville area.

My experience was absolutely horrific. First they were so understaffed that I stopped coming for 4 months to give them time to staff up. They cut my pat to 30 dollars when I came back and 5 and a half hours of my time and extra blood blew my view twice I had to be stuck in both arms a0nd was late to work because they took forever to take me off the machine so I lost an hr of pay which is 21 dollars so all and all I went through this for a grand total of 9 dollars which gas there cost. I may never donate there again oh and they take a dollar off ur card for whatever reason so 8 bucks. Horrid isn’t bad enough I have not the words

Today would have been my 1st time and it wasn’t a great experience. I stood in line 2 hours. Then once I got to the second in line I seen a guy with a sign that cut to the front. Then I questioned him because I seen front of line. Needless to say I waited an additional hour for a nurse to help me. Then I go the front of line to wait AGAIN. This lady was nice but struggled with tube for blood. Then she has me get on the scale. The line is fairly close to intake. The lady literally said my weight loud enough for line to hear. So my pulse was 103. So I had to go sit and wait for 45 more minutes. Where they had me sit there a line of people standing behind me. Yeah a victim of domestic really gets a calm fuzzy feeling having people standing behind them.. Most were hanging over the little piece barrier. Then I went back up and blood pressure cuff kept tighten down. I told the nurse that it was really uncomfortable she like just breathe. Then tells me I can try again tomorrow. The ladies were nice but there was one man and he was rude. He basically wouldn’t do anything other than bare minimum to assist us in donating talking he wouldn’t tap on a filter. How you shouldn’t be drinking. I didn’t know so I didn’t know so I didn’t bother hydrating until I was made to sit. I had never donated plasma and I thought he meant anything. I think coming in any medical place its a given not to be drinking Alcoholic beverages. He literally came up there multiple times and gave the same exact spill about basically he wasn’t gonna do anything others in a barrymen a moment to help us donate plasma. It was not the first experience that I thought it was going to be and because of that I will never go back. It’s giver tag but being told to go sit in some chairs and then have people standing behind you a lot of people isn’t the most comfortable situation. Then when I went back to the first nurse there was like blood all over the place on the ground. You could hear people urinating on the bathroom from the waiting area. I’m a sweet glad that I didn’t have to deal with the dude that was doing the plasma. You don’t know what to expect with donating plasma because I wasted like 45 hours and didn’t even get to donate and wasted like almost $20 in gas driving there . I don’t understand the lady announcing my weight like she did it was embarrassing. As a female I would think that she would know that most women do not want their weight announced. I put my finger up to my mouth like to let her know. I guess hippa laws don’t apply here. Then the second time she weighed me she was like oh I won’t say it aloud it this time.

This visit was my first and I didn’t know what to expect but I can tell you, it was a super good thing I got there at 7:15am. The first nurse who welcomed me was very nice but didn’t explain what the process. I just blindly followed her instructions. So after providing my driver’s license and social security card, she then had me watch a quick video then you wait to be initially processed in. After that you go to the line to be screened in. Here you present your ID again, they do a finger prick to test your blood to check your protein and iron levels to make sure you’re healthy enough to donate. They also check your blood pressure and take your weight. As long as you pass, you then wait again to have a physical exam. So around 11:15am, a second nurse shows up. I’ve now been here for 4 hours. This second nurse (who is just starting her day) was abrupt and very rude. There was no need for that. Once I passed that exam, she walks me to the donor floor and I’m told to take a seat. I wait again until I’m called. From here you’re given a curved table to lay on. A technician asks if this is your first time and if yes, they explain everything. My technician was super nice and very comforting. He explained the process, what to look for on the machine but most importantly said if I started to feel “weird” or uncomfortable to let him or any other staff member know immediately. Once I started the actual donation it only took 35 minutes. It didn’t hurt or anything. Super simple. This place is very clean and with the exception of the nurse who did my physical exam, everyone else was very nice and professional. They check on you and want to make sure you’re comfortable. There are large TV’s throughout the floor which is a nice distraction while you’re donating. It was a’little chilly in there so make sure you bring something to cover yourself while you’re donating. There is no food or drink allowed at any time. So by the time I finished everything, I had been there for 5 1/2 hours!!! While you’re being processed you’ll be given a prepaid M/C that you need to activate because that’s how you’re paid and yes the funds are paid to you immediately. Overall the process is pretty simple but it’s extremely time consuming on your first day. As long as you prepare for that, everything else should be smooth sailing. Their current compensation plan is pretty good too. That changes all the time so just ask about it and after each donation, they’ll tell you what you’re payment is so don’t forget to activate that card right away!!! I did mine before I even left the facility just to make sure there were no issues!! I’ll be definitely be returning.

Did my 1st donation friday, June 2nd 2023. I thought it would take me about 3 hrs there at the facility. I ended up being there 5.5 hrs because they called names out of order. I assumed it was first come first serve but yet I ended up waiting while people that would walk in and go ahead of me. Other patrons in the waiting area was very frustrated and raising their voices at workers. I guess I don’t know the procedure but if they would explain that I had to wait for other people to go ahead of me that were just walking in I would understand what was going on. The one worker that I dealt with that had short braids and colorful shoes was very aggressive when I did my physical behind closed doors with them. Found out the worker was trying to get off work at 2:00 p.m. and was rushing everything to get me done so they could leave. They got very frustrated with me and treated me with disrespect. I will be going back because I need the money and it’s for a good cause. I’m not going to let one person keep me down in my life.

Wasted gas and time driving to this place just for them to tell you that they do NOT accept new donors until 11am. Place is understaffed and in a terrible neighborhood. If you call or check the website,it does not state new donors have to wait until 11am. Won’t be visiting this place anymore
