Your blood will always stay local first, but now we will have even more access to rare and unique blood types to help meet the needs of Illinois hospital patients in need. I haven’t donated blood since this was Heartland, but seeing how badly donations are needed I figured I should jump on the bandwagon again. This place was great! I came in about 20 minutes early for my appointment and they took me right away. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly! I donated whole blood, so it was pretty quick. The initial poke wasn’t positioned quite right, but rather than wiggling it around she got a second opinion and popped it right in place. The phlebotomist even stayed to chat with me for the duration of the donation. I forget her name, it started with an M and her last name is Navarro. She really was excellent! Jasmine (possibly spelled wrong, sorry) did my screening and really put me at ease. Not only do these phlebotomists really know what they are doing, but their people skills are top notch. After the donation they had a waiting area with a huge variety of chips, pretzels, brownies and dunken donuts brand coffee. I got free socks (very cute and high quality too!) and was told to pick another reward from the table (tshirts, headbands, reusable water bottles- this is like the prize basket at the pediatrician’s office but with actual cool prizes!) Before I left I got a card with a QR code so I could track my donation to see where it goes, and they scheduled my next appointment. Clearly I’ll be back regularly, but if you are considering donating blood, plasma, etc. this is the place I suggest you go!

I’m a regular donor, but usually at the mobile locations; first time in the Winfield Center. All the staff was friendly and very professional. Process was efficient but not rushed at all. Sarah was one of the most capable phlebotomists I’ve experienced. Well done, everybody!

The staff here is great. I’ve been a few times to donate and is always a pleasant experience. This last time I almost passed out due to being dehydrated. They sprung into action and I was feeling better almost immediately. Plus you get snacks and free stuff.
