The person doing my intake was friendly and efficient and I even got a voucher for Alamo Drafthouse. When I told the phlebotomist that I was starting to feel faint, he jumped into action and did all of the things: elevated my feet, got me icepacks, started fanning me, and got me orange juice and snacks. I felt very taken care of. I think that I’ll start with all of these safety nets next time. I definitely recommend donating here!

I had a great experience donating blood at this location. The place is super clean and fresh smelling, no offensive or strong chemical odors. The staff was very cordial and professional. The screening process and registration was not too lengthy at all. I’m happy that I was able to donate blood that will help someone else. I appreciate the ease of the process here, and the caring nature of the staff.

Ok, so donating blood has been in my mind for years. I got to my appointment and they naturally ask a million questions. Ok, fine. But couldn’t have they sent these questions by email like any doctors office? The problem is that because I had a piercing done less than 3 months ago, I couldn’t donate.

My husband and I gave blood here. My experience was fine. It felt like they were rushing. When my husband gave blood, they had someone who was training draw his blood. He did not give permission to be trained on. The person that did his blood made a mistake and infiltrated his vein. Which means they poked through the vein and it caused the blood going back into his body to bubble his skin. It was an awful experience and will probably prevent him from giving blood again.

I only recently started donating at this location, but both times I’ve been have been excellent. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Make sure to check their open days/hours and I also recommend making an appointment (but they’re not required). BTW they have a great snack/drink selection for after your donation. And Everytime I’ve been they’re giving away good swag just for donating (even if you try to donate but for some reason aren’t eligible). Today was my 2nd visit and it was a bit busier, but service was still on point and fast.

Location is a bit hard to see at first but the facility is very comfortable. I couldn’t make my local blood drive, so figured I would go to one of their main locations to donate. The staff were very friendly and let my boyfriend sit and talk with me while I was donating. I always enjoy a bag of chex mix and a drink afterwards. Look forward to my next visit to this location.

Since June 2018, I have been donating whole blood every eight weeks at the South Austin Donor Center. Parking is designated for donors and the facility is spotless. The team is friendly and they are very skilled with painless needle sticks. The online client portal makes setting up appointments a breeze, plus your wellness information – blood pressure, cholesterol, hemoglobin, etc – is readily accessible. We Are Blood has many local sponsors and partners that give in-kind gifts such as free movie tickets to Alamo Draft House for donors.
