I have given blood through the blood connection at several different location. I have never been treated so awful like I was this morning when attempting to give. The girl that did my check in was amazing professional, nice, caring and just all around great but once I got to the chair it went all down hill from There. The other staff member just stood around talking with each other. A lady came other never introduced her self and no eye contact. She had hard time finding a vein and called someone over to take another look. They said my vein where extremely small. I let them know from the beginning that I do have a tendency to pass out at times with blood donation they acted like it was no problem. Told them that when I feel that way if I can just lay back it will go away fast. The lady stuck me and I told her that the feeling was coming and could she tilt the chair back alittle. She said no so I went to go lay my head on the arm rest that was around me and she started screaming that I couldn’t slide down in the chair like that. She started screaming that she needed help and that she was going to pull the needle. I continued talking with her and ask that she not pull the needle that I would be fine that I’m a nurse and I just feel this way and when I lay back it goes away. Another lady came over with a fan and tilted the chair back and I was then fine. I asked if she would still proceed and she refused. I joked and said don’t be dramatic and she in a very mean voice said I’m not you are and we will not proceed. I asked if some else could stick me or if I could go to other location and they said no you can’t donate. I become very upset bc i was there to donate to a child that is needing the blood and im a universal donor. Please explain this to me the blood connection is begging people to come and give and I’m a O negative patient begging to give and your staff refuse to continue bc of a dizziness spell. Please train your staff better. If this is how easley blood connection operates then your staff need more training for customer service, patient care, and just in general on how to almost pretend you like or job or give a care. Needless to say I will be taking my O negative elsewhere and let others know to never go to the easley location ever again.

Staff was very professional, kind, appreciative, and knowledgable regarding blood donations. I hadn’t donated blood at this location before but will be back! The office is kept extremely clean and organized. And I thought the videos they have in the snack area we’re great – it shared testimonies of local recipients and how the Easley Blood Connection had impacted them and their loved ones. I highly recommend donating – especially at a time like this!

Overall it was a decent experience. When I walked in I had to stand at the door waiting for 5 minutes (I assumed they were short staffed). If you have previously donated I recommend filling out the online questionnaire before getting there & taking a screen shot of the QR code. They are a little slow there in terms of getting you in & going. Took awhile to have someone say hello, filled out the intake form & waited again, then waiting more to go in the exam room for them to take vitals.

My husband went in this morning at a scheduled time to donate convalescent plasma. They told him that he didn’t have an appointment. They fit him in but he was only able to donate blood not plasma due to his hemoglobin level. It went downhill from there. Too many employees telling him different things.

I have called The Blood Connection 3 times to be put off because they only gave me half of the points I was suppose to get to get the Ecards they promised us with the email we got. I usually give these to the needy help them purchase things needed as a little extra help but I don’t think I am going to give blood any more because of the unprofessionalism not only in giving to points but twice now I have had to wait a minimum 45 min to an hour and half to give blood and the workers are rude to each other and to the people giving blood. One of the workers told one lady if you are to busy why did you come? That is uncalled for needless to say!

All 3 donors were not wearing masks while donating their blood inside this location. I suppose they want to donate something extra.

Staff is upbeat and friendly. Their pantry is always stocked, even the bird feeder is filled with seeds. The atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil, perfect comfort for blood donors. Be nice if they also carry an option for Gamecock football shirts, not everyone will accept a Clemson shirt! Lol.

My husband was contacted by the blood connection to donate plasma. We drove from Anderson to easley. When he was taken back, he was disqualified because of a medication he’s on. This should have been asked when he was first contacted. He then donated blood and was sent on his way. Said he felt like a 2nd class citizen because he couldn’t give plasma. He was told he’d receive compensation but didn’t.

Very friendly staff. They want to do any and everything possible to make sure you are completely comfortable while you’re donating. This place is totally better than the bus. More room, friendly staff, better equipped for more donors and their needs.

Hi He
I called this service to donate plasma. No return to my call first. Later I called again, they transferred me many times to ‘scheduler’ with no picking up or mailbox. Until later afer days, somebody picked up the transfer and she said you can just go there, it’s a walk in and no appointment needed !!. My wife went for same thing after being called by them as she waited for antibody test, and when she arrived, they said to her she needs to leave message and they get back to her in 2 days. An employee told her that she cannot give plams until 1 year after her covid !!!. THIS IS ALL HAPPENING TO PEOPLE WHO ARE DONATING THEIR BLOOD !!! Unbelievable.
