There has been heavy turnover at this location the last year or two, and the staff is now much less capable. My last two visits have been very disappointing. On the first one, a new assistant did my hemoglobin stick and pressed too hard; I bled luck a stuck pig. At the next session, today, two workers together could not find a vein, and it was very painful as they bumbled around in my arm with the needle. Finally the manager had to come over to get things right. I will never return to this facility.

Had a appointment for 9:30 was not seen until 10:00. I previously donated whole blood at Red Cross on 2/28, two Vitalant employees did not know if I was eligible to donate platelets on 3/11, I left, complete waste of my time.

Don’t be confused by the “Lifesource” sign – Vitalant has consolidated a number of known blood banks in the area under a new name for greater coverage and efficiency. This location is easy to access (in the shopping center anchored by Jewel); staff is professional and friendly; equipment is clean; donor chair is comfy; you can manage the appointment online. You watch TV for 20 mins and help someone who will need your blood some day – this is a great place to make your contribution!
