I actually have had great experiences at Biolife. My favorite nurse is Jocelyn and Vikky. They have been exceptional to me. I would recommend others to experience the joy of giving plasma for others benefit. It is uplifting!

If I could give them no stares, I would! I had an appointment for a physical on a Wednesday, told I need to get a statment of condition from my PCP before I could donate. I did, unfortunately the form was a bit vague and ambiguous, so my doctor didn’t complete the entire form. This was discovered the following Tuesday. The Biolife database ctor is only onsite Wednesdays and Tuesdays… I notified my PCP immediately and he returned the completed form within a half hour… Here it is Friday, I can’t get anyone to “look into the status of the fax” because “ain’t nobody got time for that”! These people won’t listen or lift a finger to help me resolve this problem…. Do I really trust them sticking a needle into my veins and extracting my blood?

I’ve donated my fair share of plasma over the years, mostly at a Biomat USA location in Los Angeles. It’s easy money, so I was pleased to hear that BioLife was opening up a location near my new home in West Springfield, Massachusetts. My enthusiasm quickly waned, however, as there have been problems right from the start.

After coming here a couple of times, I can honestly say that getting a phlebotomist who can really get your veins is a matter of luck. The third time I came here, the nurse who connected me to the plasmapheresis machine hurt my arm, by breaking the vein and pinching the muscle; this is something that can happen, but shouldn’t. Fortunately, Jolie came to my rescue, and used the other arm, and put the needle in flawlessly. From that point on, Jolie, Skye, Margaret and Bami are my favorite. All 4 of them are wonderful, and I look forward to be assisted by them.

Nurses are nice, caring, and very understating. The phlebotomists, while nice, they tend to jab you too much trying to get the vein. I saw less jabs in a horror slasher movie than my arm

Jocelyn was my phlebotomist and she did such an amazing job. This is my first time donating, and she made me feel very comfortable and explain to the whole process thoroughly as well as assuring I didn’t have any questions. The entire staff was very kind and welcoming, and I look forward to my next donation.

Uh Oh
It’s not a bad place however they aren’t trained phlebotomists and I’ve seen many blown veins because of improper technique, including anchoring veins…. Be aware you might be deferred because of their mistakes and and lack of proper training. I lost my coupon/promotion because of this. The people are great though.. Just need some actual training
