Thy discriminate against disabled people my husband is deaf and he understands and can read in both English and Spanish. The person doing his intake (a female that was talking in all spanish also identified herself as a suprvisor ) for his first time donating ask him to sign a paper and ask if he preferred it in spanish he said yes. She left and came back and saying that he can not donte because they did not have the paper in Spanish. He said no problem I can read English and she said no he cant donate because he asked for that paper in Spanish and they dont have it. So your telling me everyone that goes in there needs to speak English even the people coming from Juarez? Even if someone deaf or mute comes in they need to speak English. When we tried to resolve the issue by explaining that he can indeed read but not aloud she said no he needs to understand. Again we explain that he can even translate the paper she said I’m the supervisor and she said he can not donate. The problem is not that he does not understand its that he did 30yrs of speech therapy to speak like a normal person in Spanish and he physicaly cannot learn a new language without years of therapy becausee again he is DEAF. She did not try to resolve anything and after the fact I was talking to my husband about how this is discrimination and she tried to get us kicked out. We were not disturbing anyone no yelling ,no curssing, no throwing things but she said we were being disruptive. I belive its because everyone can hear us saying that she was discriminating against him because he Is deaf and she doesn’t want to take the time because she was late for lunch (she was visibly annoyed at the long line and also had a conversation with someone in the waiting area about how she is gonna be late for lunch because of the line). If she truly is a supervisor she should not be working in the front with people she has horrible people skills is ignorant to people with diablilty and humiliated my husband in front of an office full of people because he can not speak english

Overall this is a good place to donate. Staff is friendly and attentive. The only down fall is that you wait at least an hour and a half just to get screened due to it being understaffed. Other than that I love going to donate with you all.

I had to talk to one of the nurses after I was informed I had failed a protein test. I kept asking questions about this to her and she was unable to answer anything I asked so I said “look, I’m just asking questions, can you answer them or if not transfer me to someone that can.” She got mad and said in a very demanding voice “do not talk to me like that,” to this I replied “I’m sorry, I’m autistic and I try to get the clearest explanation to things to avoid misunderstanding anything and sometimes I come off a rude because of how I say things.” She closed the door and said “I don’t care, you still don’t talk to me like that.” I seriously didn’t know what to do at the moment, I just kept asking questions and she was more calm. I don’t like stating that I’m on the spectrum, I was diagnosed in Mexico because my family could not pay for me to get diagnosed in the United States, so don’t tell people often. I wanted to let it go because she became calmer, but my family told me that this was discrimination and I should speak up. The more I think about it the more i am disturbed, she didn’t apologize either. I know big business don’t care about losing one specific customer but I won’t be coming back, this is just not right.

I don’t usually write negative comments about places, but this place had me waiting from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The place closes, officially, at 6:00 pm and the staff at night will give you attitude if your donation takes long. The second donation takes just as long. The so called security people are just as rude.

I’ve been to many plasma centers before, but this one is great, the staff are attentive when needed, the machines have been off lately with the fingerprint recognition, but if you’re patient enough, it will be completed. Thank you all for great service and smiles! Will continue to recommend this place.

Terrible experience, 4 hours of being stuck in the building, that if we didn’t leave soon enough my friend and I would be staying there till 6 or 7 pm, my friend and I we had expectations for this place, but we thought way too soon, I went through all the stages, screenings, watching a video, protein checks, blood testing, and exams, I get to the last process and it already went through the garbage cuz they kept messing around and that hurts, my friend didn’t even get into the examination part and his phone died, so for 4 hours all for nothing, not coming back there again.

Entering the establishment I noticed it was empty, as a new donor I thought I be out in no time. I was asked by the faculty to provide proof of address since I no longer live on the address stated on my driver license. So I walked back to my car and obtained the registration documents provided by the state that had my current address. I was told they needed an envelope with my name and address and was denied any further steps in the donation process. Now I know why the facility is empty they refuse people even when providing state official documents. But hey lives depend on your donations right…. Very disappointed with BPL and to add further to the review they have no designated parking space for their visitors!
