I have donated almost 15 gallons to Houchin blood bank and have zero complaints. The place is always spotless and well manned. (I prefer the Truxtun donation site) Everyone is so kind and do all they can to make the experience go as smoothly as possible. It is really fun to get the additional perks sometimes. Yesterday I got 2 fair tickets and in June I got a tee shirt. That lets me know we are appreciated by the surrounding community!

On a busy Saturday the staff were kind and efficient. I still had to answer the screening questions twice when they couldn’t upload from my phone, but I just consider it a donation of my time as well as blood. “Don’t skip any meals” is good advice for recovery.

It went quickly and painlessly. First two girls who helped me with the paperwork were very friendly. Girl who drew my blood seemed like she was in a bad mood. Didn’t ask me if I was allergic to iodine. Didn’t ask me what color wrap I wanted. Didn’t tell me I could go or ask how I was doing once. Barely said a few words to me. Didn’t offer any snacks. Maybe she was having a bad day. I’m not sure. But it was my very first experience donating where the person drawing my blood was anything less than the nicest you could expect.

Been going here for a long time. Staff is always courteous and kind. Nurses are very careful in drawing blood and so personal. And the chocolate La Rosa bars make the day so sweet!

Walked in with my little one on a Friday afternoon and they were able to get me in and out! Staff was so sweet offering snacks to my daughter and the facility was sparkling clean, complete with a play room. Thank you Houchin for making it easy to donate.

I didn’t get to donate blood because my veins are little and not as plump due to drinking less water. Although, I really appreciated the staff because everyone that I had to go through were really nice and accommodating. Plus, I really like the fact that the nurse let me know she didn’t want to stick me too much even when I gave them consent to check both arms. Thank you being you, I hope the next time it’ll be easier for my veins to show.
