I give monthly at Lifestream when I am in CA. Each time is by planned & scheduled appointment, and by using my Express Pass sign in. The staff is always happy to see me and make me feel very welcome. The location is very clean and run well. For me, it is a quick process 30 minutes, for Whole Blood which is what I have given. I like getting the note from Lifestream in a few days floowing, telling me where my blood was used and for what. It makes it a bit more personal. Like having a small connection to the recipient. A small gesture of time and consideration can do so much for someone else. The pleasure is mine!

I was really disappointed that I couldn’t donate. The nurse took my blood pressure and then took my pulse with the same arm after it was throbbing. The result- my pulse was too high. Makes no sense to use the same arm and to turn away a donor. When they clearly could have taken my pulse on the opposite arm.
