The staff is always kind and appreciative, however they do not make it convenient for people in Durango to donate. They have very limited hours at their temporary location, they keep changing their website and requiring me to create a new account. I used to love to donate blood when it was United Blood Services, but it seems really poorly organized now as Vitalant.

Just a PSA that the average blood donation is about 8 minutes. There is some factors that can change that time from blood pressure and the size of your veins or hydration and what that time might mean for you, but they can’t change your blood pressure or make gravity effect you differently. They’re all nice and after donation they recommend you wait 10-15 have a snack and some water before leaving so make sure you don’t faint. That being said you can leave before that time but if you’re feeling faint I recommend waiting it out a bit.

They took the blood at a unsafe sped up rate. Normally, a blood donation take 20- 30 minutes. The staff took blood out of many of us at a blood drive in 10 -15 minutes.
